Rendition In Pursuance Of Books Morrigan's Cross (Circle Trilogy #1)
Listening Length: 11 hours, 43 minutes Number-one New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts delivers an extraordinary new trilogy—an epic tale that breaks down the boundaries between reality and the otherworldly, while forging together the passions of the men and women caught in a battle for the fate of humanity ... In the last days of high summer, with lightning striking blue in a black sky, the sorcerer stood on a high cliff overlooking the raging sea... Belting out his grief into the storm, Hoyt Mac Cionaoith rails against the evil that has torn his twin brother from their family's embrace. Her name is Lilith. Existing for over a thousand years, she has lured countless men to an immortal doom with her soul-stealing kiss. But now, this woman known as vampire will stop at nothing until she rules this world—and those beyond it... Hoyt is no match for the dark siren. But his powers come from the goddess Morrigan, and it is through her that he will get his chance at vengeance. At Morrigan's charge, he must gather five others to form a ring of power strong enough to overcome Lilith. A circle of six: himself, the witch, the warrior, the scholar, the one of many forms and the one he's lost. And it is in this circle, hundreds of years in the future, where Hoyt will learn how strong his spirit—and his heart—have become... I've always avoided Nora Roberts books over the years, not because I have anything against her, but because I always pictured her as being more of a brand name than a real person. When you read Mary Balogh or Lisa Kleypas you feel like you're meeting a real person, and hearing how they feel about life and love and romance. But with Nora Roberts you always get the feeling that, if you kicked open the door to her private study, you'd just see a giant computer, like HAL 9000 in 2001: Space Odyssey."All I see is you, all I want is you. I think if I have to live five minutes in a world without you in it, it would be eternity. I cant face eternity without seeing your face." - Hoyt MacCionaoithOh, I think I found my breath again! After the disappointment of reading Heart of the Sea, I was more than eager to get my hands on Morrigan's Cross. Words cannot describe how fascinating and amazing this book was - or the story that only just begun in it and is waiting to be continued in the others. It
3.5 StarsThey are the sorcerer, the witch, the warrior, the scholar, the one of many forms and the one you've lost.In this first book of the Circle Trilogy, we meet the six who have been chosen to lead the war against Lilith, the queen of vampyres, and her army. Hoyt, the sorcerer and Glenna, the witch, find love in all of the chaos of training and fighting. This was a great start to this trilogy. The only problem I had with it was I just didn't feel the strong love connection between Hoyt and
Read for the URR 2017 New Year's Reading Challenge prompt 'Fantasy Romance'.17/1 - I think I feel the same about this as I did the first time I read it, years ago before I found GR or thought of writing reviews of the books I read, somewhere around 3.5 stars.Glenna and Hoyt were perfectly fine characters, although possibly the least interesting of the three pairs. I'm looking forward to Cian and Moira's book - a meek, scholarly heroine with a vampire who has had a change of heart but not because
I thought this story was exceptionally well written. There was a lot of humor with both the character's dialogue and expressions. The book was similar to a roller coaster ride for me with extreme ups and downs. There was love, deep sadness, humor, time-travel, bloody fighting with vampires, magic, shape-shifting, suspense and few neat surprises. I like that. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The rest of the trilogy was set up in this book and I can't wait to read them.
DNF'ed at page 50I couldn't connect with the story. With a baby at home now, I have to little time to read books I am not into.. So for now I put this one a side. I might read it in a couple of years though!
Lilith, Queen of the Vampires, is building an army to end the human world. The goddess Morrigan wants to stop it, and gathers six champions from different times and places to form a group to defeat them. They need to become a unit to have any chance of winning, but they don't even trust each other? A witch, a sorcerer, a warrior, a scholar, a shapeshifter, and the one that's lost must find a way to work together or the upcoming war is over before it starts, and humans are doomed. It's a Nora
