This is the third book in the Mother-Daughter Book Club Series. I had not read the other three. I will tell you up front that it was a cute book but not one I really enjoyed. The four main characters Megan, Jess, Cassidy and Emma are starting eighth grade. Just like my eighth graders there were new changes for them to face. Not all of them were pleasant or easy to handle. I'm loving this entire series, and I particularly love the way the difficult characters are worth all the effort involved in reaching out to them. Calliope Chadwick is hands down my favourite: plump and bossy and brave (as only a fat woman trying a new look can be brave), but unexpectedly vulnerable, and thoughtful, and with a girlhood of her own that we finally get to see in this book (when we meet her former roommate). I love her; I cheer her on the whole time I'm reading. A close second in my

3.5 stars. I enjoyed this installment in the series.

These books are just good wholesome fun!

this book is probably my least favorite book in the series, only because I felt liken it really dragged on and on. I didn't really feel myself connecting to their pen pals, and I didn't like that. I still think that this was a very good book and I still really liked it, I just think it should've been shorter.
