Rivers Never Fill The Sea
I don't remember the last time I read a book that was so wonderful from the opening paragraph to the very end! I was enthralled with the writing (beautiful descriptions throughout the story), the plot, and the storytelling. A great read!
I had high hopes for this novel since I love novels set in this time period and I was so happy that it did not disappoint me. It is the best read so far this year and I'll probably read it a couple times more (I don't usually read books more than once) because it was just so enjoyable to read and experience. The author carves out a brilliant story line with amazing characters and twists throughout the book. Highly recommended!
I was wowed by the way this writer uses a poetic voice to describe scenery. The plot was good, though not uniquely different. But the story kept me turning pages and I felt a sense of loss when I finished the book. It left me wanting to read more. It's a book I'll read often again and again just to experience the wonderful storytelling and the settings. I'll be checking out Steele's other book, Burning Of Grey, and I hope to love it as much.
Loved this novel. A really fun and enjoyable read! Stunning descriptions of places and nature something like Steinbeck or Dostoevsky but with very relatable characters. I also loved the 1940's setting. I felt like I was back in time with the characters.
This book has the kind of writing that fills the senses, feeds the mind. There are too many books out there that are immensely popular and sometimes even required reading that fail to do anything other than just entertain and at times poorly. I loved this novel and I'm sure I will read it again many times.
Beautifully written! Very enjoyable read!

Wow, well, what to tackle first. The book reads beautifully with lots of skillfully written descriptions and it really puts you there. The storyline is interesting and takes you from beginning to a glimpse of conclusion to beginning again. Sounds complicated but it's flows very easily and you don't get lost. There's a plethora of things going on; romance, rivalry, familial discord, and it tackles a lot of subjects so there's never a dull moment.
