This is the third book in "The Missing" series. The main characters in this story travel through time to Roanoke Colony, the "lost colony" to return one of the missing to her time. However, the trip is sabotaged and this threatens the ability of the time travelers to return to modern times. They must figure out who has sabotaged the trip and why before it is too late. I have enjoyed the first two books in this series, and think the premise of these books is very interesting, but this is theI finished reading this book:( In this book Jonah, Kathrine and Andrea go into the 1600s to fix that time period because Andrea is really Virgina Dare. When travling through time, they lose the elucidator. They soon also realise that they are being sabotaged a person that goes by the name " Second " Will they get back to the 21st century alive? Read this book and the rest of the series to find out!
I am always intrigued with Margaret Peterson Haddix's plot ideas, but her writing is pretty annoying after awhile. This is the third installment in her Missing series, which started with the book Found. It was a really intriguing story, so I have hung with the next two.But the details get convoluted. It is based on time travel, and there are lots of hard-to-follow rules of time to keep up with, plus a lot of overly emotional tweens and teens. The story is told from the point of view of Jonah, a
I really enjoyed this one more than either of the first two (which were also quite good). The historical reference was well buried in the story so that many kids might not even realize they were learning without completely obscuring the facts and information used to make the story accurate. Of course, the author backs up the information she used with references and thoughtful retrospection. I would recommend this book to people of all ages, although the kids in the story are young, the writing
What the heck!!! This comes out the same day as MOCKINGJAY??? Not fair!See comments for review.
Don't ask me why I read this book. I didn't really like "Sent." I liked this one more than #2, but that's really no excuse as to why I picked it up in the first place. I didn't like "Sent" because the science fiction seemed all off and it suddenly went historical fiction (though kudos for tricking all those kids into reading about history), and that's still true in "Sabotaged." What's also true in this one, only seemed even worse, is that the kids take forever to figure things out. I know
This was a really great book all together!
