As I began to read Steve Grolls book, Beyond the Dead Forest, I didnt know I was about to enter a truly fascinating place where strange events, twists and turns would appear along the imaginary journey. Steves excellent imagination certainly kept me on my toes as the many layers of mystery began to unfold, revealing a new lesson at every turn. Stephen masterfully created a fascinating allegory, entwined with faith that will appeal to tweens, young adults and the young at heart. Superbly done,If you have been curious about how the events of life mesh together for our good and the good of others, you will learn how in, Beyond the Dead Forest by Stephen Groll. Beyond the Dead Forest is a book with depth and layered meanings. I enjoyed reading about Carter and Kat's adventures in the strange places they visited along their journey. The events in the story catalyze their inner growth and increased their determination, wits and strength. This book is interesting and likable, but I believe it would be better if the story is cut short as it is intended for middle graders, and it spanned a good 416 pages.
