I sometimes randomly download things from Gutenberg & end up surprised. How should I put this...it's poems/text about penises. From 1732. That's all. Yep. There's really no other way to describe it. "Its fruits, contrary to most others, grow near the Root; they are usually no more than two in number, their bigness somewhat exceeding that of an ordinary Nutmeg both contained in one strong Siliqua, or purse; which, together with the whole root of the plant, is commonly thick set with numerousBecause of my interest in XVIIIth century, i downloaded several books from the era.This curious brief pamphlet is some 30 pages long and contains erotic (or should i say pornographic?) verses... the poem is funny and witty but not remarkable. i can imagine gentlemen in their periwigs reciting this poem to their lovers for a laugh.A nice insight into this historical period.
This brief pamphlet, also called 'The Tree of Life' was published in 1732. It is outrageously scatological but in a truly brilliant way. It is concievable that some would read it and not realise what the subject of the story was (the male member), with its not too careful obscurity:First for Description then, 'tis suchAs needs must captivate you much.In Stem most streight, of lovely Size,With Head elate this Plant doth rise;First barewhen it doth further shoot,A Tuft of Moss keeps warm the Root:
